WAAAAHHHHH! I miss Jim!!! I may have to become a C-bs fan just so I can see him when he comes to town with the Dodgers.
Wow, Carl, that one made me laugh and cry at the same time!I miss Jim Thome more than I thought I would ... I wish him all the best, including a WS ring in 2009. I hope he helps the Dodgers win the championship; I hope they beat the Yankees; and I hope Nick Swisher strikes out every single time he bats in the post-season.(Note to self: work on being a better person!)
That almost made me cry, Carl.I didn't realize it until Kenny traded him, but Jim was my favorite player. I'm really gonna miss him.
Thome's likeness is perfect. Great and subtle drawing.
I was in Cleveland during Thome's hayday, and I saw a lot of him in Cleveland, Detroit, and of course Chicago. I tried to estimate this...I have seen about 55 of his home runs in person and probably 150 on TV and I have heard even more on the radio. He's a pinch hitter now, I wish him the best even though Mitch Williams says he can't do it. Oh yeah...I saw Jim hit several HRs in Toledo...he played for Charlotte.
October 2, 3, and 4 the Rockies and Dodgers play the last three regular season games against each other. Contreras might be good for Gentle Jim's stats by then. "Something" to look forward to.
Great post Carl...Big Jim will be missed - I wish him the best!
