Ah, but there's a crucial difference. The two guys in the bottle aren't being relied upon as starters. Perhaps a Freddy in the bottle would have been more apropos to the analogy.

WHY DOES ERSTAD HAVE A PIGPEN DUST CLOUD AROUND HIM? I LAUGHED REGARDLESS.

I love the Grindy dirt-pile under Erstad.

Good point, Danzig, but here are some links about how much I was counting on them to be reliable starters, at the time they were acquired:

Bartolo:
From last Spring

Erstad:
From Palehose 7

Griffey:
From Palehose 8

I think they all fall into the "trying to catch lightning in a bottle" category.

The Pig Pen dust cloud was first seen in Palehose 7. I'll let you find that on your own.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

I checked, still explanation for the cloud carl...

I want you to go back and read ALL of Palehose 7.

Palehose 7

Here's some help:
May 25th 2007- Pigpen cloud
May 6th 2007- Erstad loves dirt, and dirt loves Erstad.

I don't know what is more funny - The post or the comments...Hilarious.

I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT THE DUST CLOUD WAS THE EXTRA 10% THAT ALLOWED HIM TO PLAY AT 110%. THANKS FOR THE LINKS, IT MADE ME LAUGH TO REVISIT THOSE STRIPS.

Could anonymous people please not post in all-caps. It reminds me too much of JI
JIM THOME

Notice how the "key" isn't "in" the bottle.

I've taken to reading ALL CAPS writing in a Billy Mays voice. Try it. You'll start enjoying ALL CAPS.

BILLY MAYS HERE. THIS CARTOON MADE ME L.O.L.

In response to posthumous popularity as it pertains to truth in advertising,

I don't think I ever saw Billy Mays and Michael Jackson in the same place, at the same time ...

AARON ROWAND IS ANONYMOUS & ANONYMOUS IS AARON ROWAND. I HAVE TO WRITE THE WAY I TALK. AARON ROWAND DOESN'T NEED A DUST CLOUD TO GIVE 110%.
